hiya guys.... just bought my rs turbo s2 recently and the previous owner didnt tell me when the tank shows a quater its empty lol. so i ran out of petrol put some petrol in then about 20 yards away it cut out.... everytime i try to start it it runs for a second and cuts out....now if i press the gas down to full it will run like its on 1 cylinder and back fires with black smaoke. what could it be...? dizzy cos its held together with a cable tie and we messed with it, air/fuel mixture, injectors? any ideas?

 

Sounds like the fuel system may need bleeding to remove air and it will now need a new fuel filter

When turning the car over get a mate to hold the flap down (underneath the filter) a few mm's. This should prime the system.

 

sorry m8 how do you bleed the fuel system?

One should explain about cracking off (open) the banjo fittin on the fuel supply.

Get the filter changed first IMHO

 

You feinately sure its out of fuel mate.

The pump will sound a lot more prominent and louder if its no fuel, cos theres no load on the pump!

And thats a point while i think of it, you sure the pump is running?
