Heres the story , nothing like some of the great restos on here but basically trying to tidy and get it as best as i can get it but as its working in the street and in my garage its weather permiting

Timing was wrong and looks like on ispection ive bent 2 valves

So escuse to do some mods and the head gasket which may have been failing

Me and some mates are doing the work mainly NUTTIN RILLA off here , cheers mate , as he done his own recently and goes well

Then to the garage/hut/workshop


Starting to strip turbo/inlet etc off



And a bit more , and off to powder coaters


Cleaned the head up a bit , to get rid of oil and grime



Thats it for now , will get some more updates as they happen , these are with my camera phone so sorry about quality , any tips advice welcome

 

advice.......Yeah do the bottom end why you got it all in bits, mine had a top end build just before i bought it, the bottom end now sounds like a skeleton having a wank in a biscuit tin

The way i look at it dave is if i did the head gasket id never do the bottom end , had a build 3 years ago 20k, but you never no lol

Thanks peoples , all my tanks are black already and inlet etc what you see in previous pict is also going black , manifolds getting blasted then painted too

Ordered up a full roose hose kit in black there , thanks dan@rapidford .


Also just bought some new wheels pics to follow soon + head strip down and prb lots more knowing me

Stoo got the blues for a good price mate , lets just say that selling my greens should cover them


Bit of an update , 2 suspect valves are out and there bent to say the least pics will follow tomorrow , need to get the rest out now but they look great so far

Also the head looks as if its had a bit of porting , looks quite trick actually so thats a big suprise , will get pics up soon

Bored and decided to give my turbo a quick clean , only spent 15 mins on it but i think come tomorrow i will be quality

As soon as head was off it was clear that 2 were fooked and they were , so really cant wait to get it rolling now , want it done for end of feb at latest

No at the moment mate , the turbos done about 800 miles at 1 bar so would be a shame to upgrade it just now , But you have first refusal on it

Right not updated for a while , so bit of a back log and will get the pics up ove the weekend , as it stands just now heads fully built and waiting on exshaust studs and nuts to get the manifold/turbo back on and inlet which is powdercoaed , then just drop it in , but again got pics to follow , heres some form a dew weeks back

Dodgy valve , hard to tell how bd it is by pic , but there was 2 of them


Cleaning valves , nightmare , head got totally cleaned too


The bottom end , about to get my new ancillarrys fitted and a power steering pump too

Right bit of an update , bult inlet up today and bolted back up to head , also got new gates belts today , building up mainifold and turbo as i type this but need to get 4 bolts tomorrow to finish it off .

Swapping old loom over to new cibie headlights (on car now)


New thermostat going in , would be stupid not to ehh


Inlet built and onto head now , cams in too and everything bolted down, 1 manifold stud just not wanting to come out !!


Hopefully come tomorrow night the head will be compete ready to drop in
