Great stuff the cossie is back on the road (pics now added)
Hi peeps
Just to let you know i was out in the cossie tonight after a long time and the feeling is so sweet
The GT30 rocks man i am over the moon with it the boost comes in the same time as the T34 no differance in lag at all and when on boost the thing just pulls and pulls
Fair play to Martin Hadland for sorting out the turbo and new alloy boost hose the thing fits a treat
and for doing the cam timming that was out by one tooth aswell
I did have a hunting problem on part trottle from 1700 rpm to 2200 rpm and thats was because of the cam timing was out it's sorted now back to normal
ok
the road condtions tonight wasn't great was a bit wet however i did boot it on the dual carriage way.... talk about wheels spin city
i was pottering along in 5th gear for a while the road was pretty clear so i selected 3rd gear put the footdown and the back end allover the shop same in 4th and then into 5th but backed off tho i was scared
I then slowed down and checked the boost gauge to see the peak recall it showed a spike of 35.4 psi
The car has to be re-maped because it's still on the old chip xo38 chip /t34
i know i shouldn't be driving it on this boost and i will lower it down to about 10psi untill it's live mapped
i only gave it the one blast tho and i am well happy (i know i shouldn't but i couldn't help myself
)
I went to the SS's in Birmingham tonight for the first time in yrs all i can say that place is unbeliveable for cars you just cant move loads of chav's
I saw Gav Diamond who is off this board he was there i was talking to him for a while and went home
Ill be very happy when the 3dr is finally re-mapped so i can get it out on track and give it the full hammer
so far so good im happy with it
cossie's are still ace tho it's hard to get away from them and stay away from them just awesome when they are right brings a big smile to my face
cheers marco

internal mate
i couldn't be botherd about all the agro/ messing about that goes with the external GT30
it might be better to go external
but when i thought about going on track with the noise of the screamer pipe and the modding that went with it soon put me off and i would have to have the mainfold modded to take the external waste gate and for the sake of an extra 50bhp wasn't worth it for me i'm not one bit botherd about bhp i'm more intrested in when the turbo comes in
this internal is more or less striaght bolt on and to the exhaust side aswell but it is better suited a 4wd head tho , Martin had to remove the one of the lugs that is on the side of the head , so i have bolted it up with a normal spec r jobbie
i had a choice of the external gt30 but for me i'm not to botherd about that they can make more bhp than the internal.. all i wanted was a bit more grunt up the top end after 6500 rpm but still have the same low down boost like the t34 has with the .63 housing which it has so it's ideal for me
i went the cheapest way to gain a bit of power without the sacrifice of lag
i have 1000cc injectors to also with the air to air and controller
i still thinking of useing a a biltz dual seliniod controller as they read of the sensors to controll the boost
where the air to air are mechinical and these still will put the same boost in even if somethings wrong with the engine
atlease with the biltz one they if anything goes wrong with the fueling they will automatically drop the boost to nothing if they have too to protect the engine

hi mate
it is motorsport boost controller thats used on the rally cars/race cars
they are able to controll the boost when using a bigger turbo like t04 and above some peeps swear by them and some dont as they are old hat now
but in the day the i suppose they were the bollox
some peeps just use the air to air with no controller some use them with the 15 postion controller each setting is controlled by the ecu when its programmed you can have them set at what ever you like say 15 full boost , 1 at hardly anything if you wish all depending on what boost you want them set
they are very good but like i said the dont work off any sensors they are just mechanical
they just send air through them to controll the boost and you dont have the amal valve anymore
thats all i know about them
im sure theres alot more peeps on here that know more the me about them

hi hardeep
well as far as i am awear the engine was built to good spec 7:4:1 /ported head/ (400 bhp)/double valve springs/ pistons/hi pressure oil pump/cams ect
all i had changed was the exhaust cam....it had a good inlet cam in before
i have a set of defi 1000cc injectors just incase i decide to upgrade again which i probally wont
when the t34 died i wasn't going to pay 500+ quid to have it rebuilt the housing was cracked / needed seals / i thought fook that ill would rather pay for a new turbo i still have the t34.63 in bits
so yes you could say turbo on with an exhaust cam
the head might cause a bit of restiction but who cares i'm not chasing every little bhp and if it makes a gen 420/440 it will be enough for track use may too much for me you know what rwd are like

Hi glancy
yes mate
everything is going well they have survived the treatment Porkie has had no issues and he is running 500 anyway althou his car is 600bhp when on full boost
Sib's is one was still going strong untill he blew the engine
one has gearbox has gone to germany another has gone to sweden
one is going to bulgaria just the kit
theres one in a clubmans grp a escort rally car still going strong with over 440ftlbs of torque
yes i am well happy that they are not blowing up thats the mainthing i dont expect them to last for ever but i do expect them to last a while
the gears are well strong
and i dont think the big tooth gears will break for a long time as they are brand new metal
I can get them done for a 2wd but not for the T5 tho peeps can use the 2wd mt75 they will fit striaght inthere no probs

I tried to get them as cheap as i possibley could that price is for the kit it's extra to have it built up in a box
the only thing that anoys me with this gt turbo is i have to use a chav dump valve
i preferd the old chatter

I would say you could swap the exhaust housing for a .63 easy it all depends on the core inside the rear exhaust wheel but then again if the exhaust wheel is too big you could have it machined down
give martin a call on monday and see what he recons i dont think you will have a problem
there is one thing you have to do tho , where your oil return from the turbo thats goes back to the sump that will have to be lenthend in some way by about 10mm and it needs to be modded from the turbo end
something like a spacer that has to be welded
