hi all, ive been offered a car with a reg i want, but theres no actual plates on the car so i took the chassis number and need to confirm the reg number. anyone know where i can check this?

HPI and it will confirm the owner as they wil probably ask YOU who owns the car so that they can see it isn't kinda dodgy: HPI's normally get done in a "for sale" environment by the potential buyer so they should know who currently owns the car so you can check it is proper and not nicked.

 

im thinking something aint right anyway, but im dealing with someone that is a bit.............. distant (ish)

Can i find anywhere or any site any info about my sapphire 4x4 RS Cosworth?
The car was leave the from UK at 1993 and come to Cyprus. Now is 30
years old (1/1/1992) and i want some info for registration and manufactured day so i can write it as classic car.
I have the UK number plates and chassis number but i didn't find anything.

You should from the chassis number be able to decode it and find its build date and location of build.

Off the top of my head it should be,

Digit 8 G - Germany
Digit 9 B - Genk
Digit 10 B - Sierra
Digit 12 M - 91 Year
N - 92 Year
P - 93 Year
Digit 13 J - January month
