Default Fitting new battery Help (cry)!!

Hi all, its been about 3 years since ive fitted a new battery, what do i connect first positive or negative??

connet the positive first

you do this because if you connect the neg first, then tighten up the positive terminal and the spanner touches the chassis it will cause a short

good advice as always from the G man

apart from that there is no particular reason why you should connect either first..

ps. you only do the spanner shorting on the bodywork trick once, to learn that Gareth's method is best...

cheers all, its so embarrising asking that! but my battery is now dead so got a new one to put in, 88 pound from halfords!

i didnt pay 88 quid, but the bloke i brought it of had about 4 months left so i thought i might aswell get one for free, unless its was £44 and it shown 88 as one battery came back and one got brought, so that adds up to 88 quid??!!
