hi chaps am gonna get some bailey tanks for my 2wd sapp next month and wondering what all this swirl pot buisness is about sorry am quite new to this cosworth stuff and still learning

 

I hope i´ll manage to explain that with my bad english as i´m not a native speaker but i´ll try...

A swirl pot is mounted to get air bubbles out of your cooling system. When the coolant passes hot spots of the engine, it can partly start boiling and small air or better steam bubbles appear. This will cause your cooling system not to work so efficiently.
If a swirl pot is mounted, those steam bubbles will exit the system there.

if you are getting the header tank make sure you ask for the extra return to plumb the swirl pot into

I've got the bailey set up on mine and it looks really good. As above the water enters the potas it exits it swirls round inside allowing air to escape through the top to the header.
