R.S.T Headlight prob
On sarshs s2 rs turbo the headlights have stopped working
When you turn sidelights on there fine but as soon as you turn headlights on nothing but the main beam still works
I have checked all fuses etc and even tried a different stalk but still the same.
So does anybody have an idea what will be causing this or should i just get a auto electrition out?

Could be a bad earth (although it's not common on RST's)
Check all the connections & to eliminate the earth problem connect an earth wire direct from a good earth point on the car body to the earth in the bulb holder & see if that sorts it out

Ok this is almost definatly what it is
there are 2 of the smaller type relays at the back of the fuse box giv them a wriggle and u should see some light.
they are prob melted i used to have this quite a lot on mine but it would be when u were driving at night so plunged into darkness
if no joy get a disposable nail file and cut it down so u can file the contacts a bit as they're probably corroded
HTH
let me know how u get on

as said deffo the 2 retangular shaped relays in the back of the box, had this problem on an old orion of mine, you will prob find the plastic cover on them has melted
its deffo the realys in the fuse box! mine does it all the time cause the pins are damaged, try wrapping a small bit of wire around it to make a better connection, worked for me!
as said
2 small relays back of fuse box
either white or brown
give them a wiggle if the lights come on when wigling them
then take them out
and apply a small bit of solder onto the pins so there a tighter fit in the fuse box
