They have been banned for comments made to each other on a thread that has been removed........

They gave assurances that they would behave and they didn`t,so they are simply serving a ban that they were both warned they would receive....

 

It must have been pretty bad to justify removing the thread as well!

I presume that it was in some way offensive to others?

Right, im getting absolutely sick of this nonsense of being made out to be a cunt by the mods now on a forum that I genuinely put a lot of effort into trying to help peopel on and that many of my friends use.

I made a perfectly innocent comment to Phil, I wasnt having a go at him, and i wasnt treating him any different to all the users of passionford treat each other, I didnt say ANYTHING at all to him that was offensive, nor did I say anything he hasnt said about himself MANY MANY times in the past publically on the fourm.

He spat his dummy out over it and started questioning my motives, I stayed perfectly calm, didnt rise to his accusations,and just calmly explained in a great deal of depth every single word that I posted, something that no other user on passionford is forced to do, so I dont see why I have to, but I did it anyway to avoid a row.

I wasnt trying to start a row or "bait" Phil in ANY way, I was just treating him (evidently wrongly) as an adult and normal forum user with both my original comment and all my replies to him.

He then proceeds to go on and on and on and on and on about it, I keep politely replying to him again and again and again and again, trying to avoid a row.




Now the simple fact of the matter is this:
I am telling you categorically it was NOT my intention to start a row and I was not trying to "bait phil"
Now either you believe that, in which case please unban my account instantly, or you dont beleive that and as such are basically calling me a liar, in which case please delete my account as I dont wish to use a fourm run by a bunch of people who are going to call me a liar when I am giving you my word about something.
Many of you know me personally and should know full well that if I am giving you my word about something it is because it is true, as thats the sort of person I am

cant believe they have been at it again, there like a married couple.

 

I for one would be deeply dissapointed if Chip was driven away.

As an impartial, it has to be said that Phil does like to antagonise Chip unnecessarily. If Phil makes a post, Chip has every right to respond on a public forum - or are there separate rules for certain members.... This doesnt sound very democratic.

Furthermore, if somebody makes a comment about someone, irrespective of who, and how many times before, then that person should be given the right to react in an adult manner. If Chip, as he states did this, then why ban him?

I accept that a warning has been given to both parties, but if Chip reacted in a grown up manner, then he has not breached the rules.

I also accept that being a MOD is a very hard job, and that we dont necessarily know the whole story. Notwithstanding this, by systematically deleting any evidence of the disagreement between them, we cannot make our own judgements. Was the post offensive to anyone other than the two of them (ie racist etc)? If so, then it should be removed rightly and immediately. If not, then maybe a more impartial view could be taken if the evidence could be viewed by all.

As always this is my opinion based on the information I have. Clearly there is more to the story, but I would be absolutely gutted if Chip was forced to leave over a personality clash!

I never coment on the whole Chip Phil thing, but having been on line most of today, the more i read Phils posts, its him who causes most of the trouble. Maybe im wrong, its just how i see it.

Ok so Chip possibly shouldn't have called Phil a hard drinking gangster or whatever BUT Phil didn't have to over-react to it AND Chip didn't have to keep replying on the thread.

If it went bad after page 3 I didn't see.

Was the mods choice what to do with the thread, personally I would've locked it and not banned anyone, but I'm not a mod it was their decision. Lets hope they come back after the ban

The pair of them seem to have too much spare time on their hands to keep posting so much!

Frankly, you need only one other member to take a disliking to you, and then simply antagonise you over and over again until you react a lot then you would find yourself in a similar position to chip pretty bloody quickly!

Chip is as you rightly say sarcastic at times, but the majority of what he says is usually a joke, with no offence intended.

A forum without people like Chip is worth f all - everybody annoys somebody somewhere - you just need that person to go on and on and on and on about it much like Phil does to make a problem!

just let them both get on with it. if phil feels something chips said to him is uncalled for just delete the thread. It does always seem to be phil over reacting. bearing in mind you could say anything you wanted to chip without him taking offense. There arguing doesnt really effect other people so just let them get on with it.

Whys that mate? i think it would be a loss if both chip and phil went.

 

How is it a better forum when someone who actually knows alot about cars/engine/nitrous etc. and offers alot of help to people gets banned?

 

Quite a lot the next time you have a question, and there is nobody to answer it for you, because Phil has driven all those that could have actually helped you away!
