Default Series 1 4wd and cosworth running gear

Does anyone know which firm/company would be able and willing to carry out this conversion and how much you would think?
If a donor cossy and engine was provided?

I know it has been done but i like as much info as possible as i am finding it hard to get this wacky idea out of my head i understand it wont be cheap but i plan on keeping the car forever anyhow

I know GARTRAC made some quite a few years back?

Kind regards

Dave

The shell can be converted by DJ Motorsport - they've done loads.

Depends what you want mate - if you want to just give the shell and dobor car to someone and expect them to convert the shell and build the whole car up for you then I would agree Ł10k is probably about right.

If you just want the shell converted and then build it all yourself, well, you'd probably save about Ł7k !

I doubt it would be any less tbh

To build a proper mk2 escort shell is 10k atleast, thats without anything bolted to it.

The gartrac mk3's would of basically been the same level of fabrication etc.

Depends who you use and what exactly you want to do with it I suppose.

Also try Kevin Wallcroft:
Kevin@dtmsport.wanadoo.co.uk

He's done a fair few S2 and Mk3 Fez conversions using XR4x4 platforms.

Thx for all the replies to people i could get in touch with!

Has anyone got any times and bhp currently ran in any known?
What sort of car would it be against a cossie with similar HP obviously with the understanding of a lot less weight

I mean would this car cope well with the conversion or would it be wise to start with the means to go on with full seam welded and grp a cage to front struts and the likes any more info would be great guys
