I am getting the parts together to convert my 2wd to 4x4 providing I can source all the parts and was wondering if this will fit?

I have a spare 4x4 cos 1 u wuss
u will need
gearbox
gearbox mount
sump inc cross shaft
front prop
4x4 cos front diff ( xr4x4 1 is a diff ratio & will blow the box)
rear prop
engine mounts
front drive shafts
hubs
front brakes
front struts as these are diff to the 2wd
4x4 oil pick up pie to suit the sump
steering rack

would be easier to sell yours & buy a 4x4 as the floor will need modding as well

 

Just pricing bits up at the minute to see if it will work out cheaper as genuine 4x4's seem to be doing good money. I have the time and space to do it and don't like doing things the easy way.

engine mounts £20-£130 best to fit uprated as the engine can pull the driveshafts out!

steering rack £30-50

over a grand there plus the labour

 

don't forget the starter motor and clutch release bearing, remote oil filter mount (?), and whatever else I've forgotten

hows things m8? bet my 4x4 is back on the road before yours, even got a 2wd now as well
any progress on the engine?

 

With the sounds of it it might work out better just to get a 4x4 to start with or swap both cars for a 4x4.

 

don't forget that as well as the transmission tunnel being different (space for transfer box, different mounting positions), there are also semi-circular nothes out of the chassis legs on a 4x4 for the driveshafts
