and, if so, can you answer a question which has been floating baout for a while?
one of my new ford fitted tca's failed on my sierra a while back after only 4 months, the word from ford was that they didn't warranty this as i had fitted poly bushes to them
the garage that fitted them and i was chasing has since gone out of business (dagemnham motors uxbridge) so no reply there
so, is it true or did they fob me off because they were a bunch of coonts?
thank you

Cars got to be as it left the factory / standerd running parts for any warranty claim.
Even a simple mod changeing the wheels to bigger ones out it won`t be warranted .
plus you can get a warranty repair at any uk ford dealer don`t have to be the one you bought / got the parts fitted from.
Only way is to re fit back to the standerd bushes and anything else thats not standerd and ford will then replace the part inc labour under warranty.

Don't think Ford or dealer would be liable to honour warranty on a modified part.
Like Doo says, if you can be bothered to put the orignial bushes back in, and they don't notice, another Ford dealer may make a claim to Ford on your behalf, but if the original claim was made and rejected Ford will have a record of it.
But modifications to one part of the car don't affect warranty on another.
E.g. - if you put different bushes in the TCAs and the CD player failed, the two are unconnected and the CD would still be cvered. It all gets a bit wriggly when they MIGHT be connected - e.g. you fit your bushes and the gearbox goes. The makers will argue that the new bushes alter an angle for the driveshafts, putting strain on the box or similar bollox, leaving you to prove that the mod DIDN'T contribute to the failure.

If they can suggest that a failure just *might* have been effected (even tenuously) by a modification they will refuse to payout.
So in the case of you changing the suspension around, which potentially sends extra vibration through the shell, and therefore prematurely wears out the delicate mechanism in the CD player.
And they would of course, be correct as far as a court was concerned, so you would likely get nowhere with your claim.
