Default Do you have A.B.S on a track car...

As above, If your building a track car do you want A.B.S or not? And if the car already has it do you remove it?

Cheers ben.

yeah thats what ive always thought, some people say it takes the skill out of comming into a corner an braking late because you rely on the a.b.s but others swear by it im sure.

Once when i was starving and coming down a local road at just over the speed limit i realized i was about to pass a McDonalds and tried to turn into it. My A.B.S Saved my life then i think. I thought it would be ace on a track car but i've been told it's shit. So wanted your opinions.

I couldn't drive like I do if my track car didn't have abs, at croft last year during one session it failed as I entered the complex one great big lock up later I made it round the corner, I run slicks and find it to easy to lock up without it.

i used to disable the ABS on my sierra on track as it kicked in too early and was horrible.

i didnt disable it no the BMW at donno in the rain, and it didnt haveany negative effects.

what car are we talking about anyway? as with sierra/esccos ABS you can quite easily switch it on/off

Jim Galbally We are talking a 1.7 Ford Puma, The plan is not to go for massive power but more for handling. And we would like 16's as they are supposed to be the best size for handling so as big as brakes we can fit under them wheels will be fitted. But i wanted to keep A.B.S and my mate i'm building it wants it gone.

Unless your ABS system is awful (ie Jims) 9 times out of 10 your better off with it IMO, id not get rid of it unless it was causing me grief, as its saved me enough times.

Wouldve thought so, nice modern car n all that. No harm in fitting a simple switch to over-ride it tho, see how you feel.

On some cars ABS gets very confused when sliding off backwards or sideways too, but generally, ABS is your friend.
