hi i was thinking of buying a 1.8 cvh sierra. does anyone know if i could put an rs turbo head on the 1800 block with a decompression plate ? or put a complete escort rs turbo engine in would it fit straight on the gearbox ? any advice would be much appreciated. cheers

1800 cvh and gearbox are longditundinal for rear wheel drive. RST engine is for use in transverse layout.

I'm pretty sure the engines are very different and you can't just stick a 1600 head on an 1800 block. I looked into it years ago when I had an 1800 but found out it couldn't be done.
