hi guys thought i should put this up as i been on here for a while and never got round to starting this thread

we have been the owner of 4 rs turbos now for a long time and it all started with the wife looking at a friends rs that he was selling without a engine we brought it with all intensions of fitting a engine and sorting out some of the rust and thats where things went down hill very quickly !
by the time i had removed bits from it we found that the shell was well too far gone to salvage it and so with heavy heart we thought about braeking it up untill a shell came along. it's had loads of work done to it and needed just a few bits to finish it off as it was a bare shell we had all the bits from the one we brought so here are a few pics so far with what has happened with it i have brought loads of bits for it over the last coupe of years and we have nearly sold it a few time but now its time to pull my finger out of my butt and get it finished





















there are a few things we need to have done and the turbo is one of them as its totaly shagged the other is trying to get some one to paint it for us who knows what they are doing !

lol yes i know that feeling it was due to be finnished for christmas but have been let down with the body work !

just a insight in what the shell has had done to it


2 wings
2 flitch panels
4 floor pans
2 inner cills
2 outer cills
back panel
scuttle panel
rear inner arch
front panel front cross member
battery tray
new bonnet
gen ford tail gate
fully undersealed floor inside and out

2 new head lamps
2 new indicators
2 new spot lamps
brand new bonnet
gen ford bonnet

its the best shell i could find for the money and the engine bay had been painted. once the car has been fully painted i can rebuild it inside and out i will need a few new bits to make it look better and have it on the road for the summer

i have loads of new non ford panels that i brought that are just sitting there i brought them to repair the first sheel then found more problems then enough so never used them

im sorry to say 2 have been broken to save this one but they were way to rotten to save

i forgot to say the seat you see in the pics are not going into it i got them with a rs i brought for just the engine the seats are terrible but i have a mint set to go in it

 

 

well more work done tonight , the front arch, door flitch and scuttle panel have been primered.

I have found a painter for her now in Staff so thanx to those who made suggestions.

I'll post more pic's tomorrow.

 

 

 

don't worry gents my hubby is down at our unit now working away again ready for the paintwork in Feb. Just in time for some shows i think. Done many shows in our time but not with a Ford . I have been to trax for the past 5 years , even done the track.

Wednesday /3/07

as my wife has said i have been to my unit to sort some more bit out i have etched primmed the front wing as it was rubbed down to bare metal and given a quick coat os primer as was the 1/4 panel and scuttle panel and while i was there i gave the n/s wing a coat of primer as well.

Ive been going through all the body kit bits and have all that i need but really could do with 2 new front wing mouldings as the ones we have are not that good the back 2 are near perfect. So once painted it will be put back together i do need to get a few bits and have some parts painted but that will be done nearer the end i have plenty of spares so i can get most things chromed or powder caoted as i go along.

i have started to strip the new boot lid we have so i can get that ready

and yes it is as bad as it seems !

they will be kept just for parts thats all ! lol

tessatony the seats are really bad the picture makes them look better than they really are ! but we do have a mint set of originals to go into it

so a quick up date i have finally stmripped the other shell we had and its gone to the big rs scrap heap in the sky i was going to try and rebuild it but it was just to far gone to try and save.
So with every little thing removed down to the very last plastic clip it was loaded up and taken away so with the bits i had removed i fitted them to the rs we have to keep them safe as lying around they would no doubt get damaged so here are a few updated pics

and sorry about the pic's i DID take my camera and the bloody batterys were duff

yes they are both on the data base shawn !

well i went to body matters today at the time he told me and they were shut

so i will have to call him again in the week !

zetec yes mate im a very good friend of daves hes been here a few times as we have been to him as well ! and have long phone calls to him !


very small world so you might know i have a cavalier turbo as well ? and daves cav is due back to me because after rebuilding the engine the little end has gone !

 

I wasn't sure if you had one also mate but Dave's is a beauty! Known him for a good few years now - good lad
