I have heard it takes about 3 days to finish............so is it worth buying or not??????

 

alot of my mates who have it moaned it was too easy

game is very good, and in multiplayer

and in HD it looks

 

not my kind of game, but my mates got it, and he absolutely loves it, he said if your into that kind of game, its a must.

 

hi this is mitch im jaycos's son ive played gears of war i think its an amazing game with even better grathics and the controls are very good the game is based on cover if you don't take cover youll die the game is set in a futureistic america were alians called loucst have nearly taken the earth the person you play was put in prison and onli gets let out due to not enough experienced soldiers the guns in the game are awesome you start of with a semi auto but get a full auto with a chainsaw on the end for close combat the only thing i found difficalt is the re-load system you can eather leave it to reload by itselfor u can get it to reload a bit quicker by pressing a button exactly when needed to but if u miss were its ment to stay it takes longer to reload than normal i think this game out does any war game as i have played all the call of duty and medal of honer games and this game beats them hands down i think the game can be completed in 3-4 days thats its only downside.

the single player game is good, although the plot seems a little thrown together. As mentioned the graphics are amazing, especially in HD. the game can be finished quite quickly unfortunately, although the final boss is very difficult if your playing alone. The AI for the computer players can be very stupid at times.

Personally i would recommend you rent this game and see if its for you, then consider buying it.

Online i feel its very weak, there is a severe lack of realism in the weapons, eg you can unload a full clip from the rifle into someone and not bring them down. For this reason i've never played it online much and never will do.

don't let my review put you off, there are many good points to the game to, the reload system is very good, as is the use of cover. Although this later point is put to much better use in rainbow 6 vegas.

To summerise...
It was not in my opinion all it was hyped up to be, although the graphics should definately be experienced. could i warrant the Ł37 price tag then... I'm afraid not. Rent it for a fraction of the price.

Good game, first game ive played thru to the end in a while. Good gameplay and lots of replay value!

I'm not a huge fan of shoot-em-ems but this game fookin' rocks

Whilst the story game might be a little short (wouldn't say 3 days unless you are glued to it though) the online co-op and versus modes are excellent

Stunning graphics, gameplay isnt great, running, ducking and shooting becomes boring very quick!

 

There is nothing that comes close to gears of war on the xbox, its the best live game there is. You cant just run and gun like in all first person shooters, especially in the online games.

Its on constant on my xbox. The gamespot review is accurate and its well worth Ł34.99 or more.

well ive ordered my xbox with it as a mate told me too

playing on ya own on any game is boring tbh

you need a good online multiplayer game

this is why i ordered it

but the only thing im not going to like is 3rd person view

so will be buying ghost recon aswell as i enjoyed that when teh forst one came out and online was a good laff

may buy rainbow 6 but bought it for pc and took it back 2 hrs later is was that shit so not sure yet on this one

 

brilliant game, im not really into shoot em ups but got hooked quite easily to this, try lost planet too another top shoot em up

 

Infact, im just about to trade my copy in for something else, probably a wii game
