Jeeeeeez, I can't believe no-one has commented on this!! It's AndyRST's old car.

Was always a great car, despite Andy continually denying that it is equipped with a PE 1900cc engine!!

Laughing aside, Andy always maintained that it was mildly modifed, but it made 227bhp at SCA in Norwich and he always managed low 14's at the Pod, so the power claims would appear to be fairly accurate.

Andy, I like your style, however, I can see your play-on-words.

You said WAS a std 1600cc CVH. Yes, indeed it was, when it rolled out of the factory. Then at some point in the years that followed it took a little trip to PE for one of their famed 1900cc System 2 lumps. No?

PMSL @ Tony and Mr C The only way you could have proved that 1900 theory was to buy it and strip it

Paul it did go well back from P.E didnt it

Carl, you try putting 220+bhp through the front wheels of a RST with road tyres and set of konis as the only suspension mod i'll be impressed if you beat a 14.3 but i'll be more impressed if you find a RST who's engine had done 100k miles and still produces 220+ bhp all day long

Granted,

Andy's old shed was a rocket of a car, the 1900 is a long term running joke, even Chris @ power engineering reckoned it was a system 2

so if my frst cant better a 14.3 ill fookin sell the thing,

i cant understand then how a 185bhp one can do a 14.5 and a 220bhp cant better a 14.3 surely the 220bhp one will start pulling away from late 2nd to 3rd gear and get a better 1/4mile time no...?

It's all down to the launch, the transmission setup, the suspension, Mine's got 190 horse sand I only managed to make a 15.8 1/4 at the pod night racing, need more launch practice I reckon

FRST completely different car, much less over hang over the rear wheels means the front doesnt lift as much on launch

too many variables to compair this "185" bhp car doing a 14.5 and a "220" bhp one doing a 14.3 i.e Tyres, Driver launch, torque band of engine, weight, track conditions. etc

The higher the power, the harder it gets to pull off a decent 1/4 mile time. I should know, my sprint times aren't great!!

With 350bhp, I can still only manage a high 13, yet if I turned my boost down alot, I could probably still do a high 13. (although my car isn't set up for 1/4's).

cool christian, but surely with that power from a rolling start you must waste most cars which are capable of a low 13 high 12 1/4m???

what are the fastest times for rst
ripleys and that black frst? what tiems did they get?

Ahhh cool, they know the car well there. They should have all the old graphs stored on computer too so can see the history of the power increases.

Dan, your too slow old bean, read above

Lenny, did you restore Adams old shell then ?
