Are these discs any good?
Im gonna be upgrading to Cossie Discs and was wondering if these are gonna be ok to go on?
Manufacturer : Black Diamond
Category : Black Diamond Discs - Combis Front
Sub-category : BDFC - Ford
Application : Sierra/Sapphire RS Cosworth 86-90
Product Code: KBD052C
Details : Vented disc. Diam = 283mm ; Thickness = 24mm
I have read that some drilled discs are prone to cracking, would i be better going for just the grooved discs or the combi ones?
Drilled Combi Grooved

Im gonna be using the car for mainly road use but the odd track session in the summer. Can anybody recommend me some decent pads as well?
thanks peeps

if you want "named" disks then personally i'd go for Tarox .
i got my cossie disks from SportBrakes and they have been fantastic and stood up to loads of abuse with ease, including several track days a year
cost half as much as black diamond too

I've got a nice set of ST170 brakes for sale on E Bay at the moment and they aren't really that much more than you'd end up paying for a set of Black Diamond warp easily disks

Funny that as I have used them (Black Diamond) on my competition car for about 9 years with NO problems at all.
Don't like ferrodo pads with them tho, as they leave too much copper behind and so fade quicker.
Dont forget Im talking competition use - on a road car they may fair up a bit better.
I now just use bog standard no name ones from my local motorfactors which are about £70 cheaper and last (for me) the same time span.
Pads, I only ever use Mintex since doing back to back trials with about 5 manufacturers in one day.
Funny old world isn't it
