Default People piss me off

I had a call on tues at aprox 4pm from a bloke from manchester asking for prices for
1, complete saff leather trim
4x4 bonnet
Saff front grille

I tell the bloke i have probs the best leather trim i have ever had in stock and we worked out a bulk price for the MINT leather / bonnet and grille

He was very happy with the price and said he would call in the morn ( today ) for my addy and he would come over and collect asap

He calls this morn and gets my addy and says he is on his way

At 3pm i think ,,where the hell is he anyway im Ring Pete rs specialist for a chat ,,and quess what ,,he has a bloke from manchester on his way for a leather trim / bonnet and grille

So ,, I called this lad ( who is on his way to me and Pete )

Me ,,Hi Mate its Paul from NYRS SPARES , where are you ,,thought you were coming for the trim etc

Him ,, OH,, Its a bit far away mate so not bothering

What a tosser ,,I spent 3 hours removing the trim and giving it a propper clean ready for collection , and waited in all day for him and he couldnt even be bothered to call me and say he wasnt coming

TOSSER ,,

Im not bothered that he didnt want the parts its just that he said he was coming and then just couldnt be bothered to call and tell me he thought a 1.5 hour drive was too far to come

Is there any wonder we get sick of timewasters

Rant over

Always makes me chuckle the way each time something like this happens you always seem to get so stressed by it.

Surely it cant be good for your heart being an RS Breaker if you get upset by the occasional punter who doesnt do exactly what they say they are going to?

We get time wasters all day long at Autoglass. They ring up, ask for a price on a screen (or whatever) which we provide. Then ask em if they want to be booked in, they say yes, and we spend 5mins on the phone forting out times, dates, location (either their address, or directions on how to get to us) and book it. Confirm it all again to be sure.

When it comes to the appointment time, the fucker don't show. Or we go there and they are the car aren't there.

So I ring em, and get the "oh, I can't make that" or "Sorry, thought I had cancelled that" etc, which is ussaly followed by "no, didn't think to ring you and let you know" when asked if they rang up Either that or they never answer the phone, so I just leave a sarky, but polite message asking why the haven't bothered to come in, or be in when the appointment is scheduled

Why do they have to lie? We all know the reason is they got a better quote, or the quote is too high. Why not just say? Or if it's too high, why not just say on the phone at the time "bit pricey for me, leave it for the time being, thanks anyway" then we don't waste tim booking em in for a job thats never gonna happen Only takes less than 2mins to ring up and ask to cancel their job if they don't want it - and it's only polite

CUNTS......

I feel its just a shame that people cant just be honest ,,if its to far then no probs , just tell me your not coming ,,I dont need his money as the next customer for a leather trim will buy it i am 100% shure ,

The problem is that it makes us not trust people ,,how would he like it if he got to me and i sold the trim 1 hour earlier and said ,,sorry mate i wasnt 100% you would turn up so i sold it to this bloke

This is the sort of thing that will happen if i get to the point where i just dont trust anyone

TOTALLY see your point mate that is a very annoying thing to do to someone, had the same thing with people off this board when i was breaking my engine in the RST, but then i got people who did what they said they'd do, came down look at the items paid and then left, no argueing no umm'ing or argh'ing

only bad thing about selling is the time wasters

Default time wasting

I'm in agreement with NY RS S on this one, don't know about you lot but when i'm buying something i've always gotta pay top money for it and when i'm trying to sell something people want to give me peanuts,

there are a lot of people out there who are full of shit and chat a load of bollox, when i was selling my mk 2 granny i lost count of the cocks who called me saying "blah blah i love mk 2's etc i'll call you on saturday blah blah" to which not one of them ever called back, sold the car to a fella from swindon who came and looked at the car, said no at the time but then called me back and came and bought the car a few months later,

people like this bloke(who let NYRSS down) are just cocks, but there is still a few people out there who do what they say they are gonna do and if they change their minds pick up the phone out of courtesy and let you know, that includes me

I agree.
If you want it and phone up for it, go and collect it.
If you are not going to go just phone up or text, even if its a quick "sorry not coming call", just politeness isnt it?
What Paul says (NYRS) is a good comment, sold it earlier as didnt know if you were coming. You would be miffed so works both ways. Lets hope trust remains within the RSOC as it always has

Why must I?

I havent said anything in this thread to indicate that so i fail to see why you are jumping to that conclusion?

I frequently deal with clients who change their mind about requirements in my job too, but I dont let it get to me, if it did then I would change job, which is why I was suggesting you should consider it, if you get annoyed by timewasters you are in totally the wrong job IMHO

Chip

why would you let customers who change there mind get to you

1, at least you know they have changed there minds

2, do you own the company ?? if you dont it doesnt realy bother you as its not your time that costs you money it costs the company you work for the money

plus you must have plenty of time to waist going by the amount of time you spend on here pushing your post count up

Often i dont know that a customer has changed their mind until after ive completed work.

Most of my life I have been self employed, makes no difference to how I act if im emplyed or self emplyoed though, I just accept it as part of the nature of my business that sometimes I do work and then end up unable to charge for it

i get it all the time...people say "yes i,ll be back with a deposit i,m definitely wanting it"
as soon as they go outthe gate i tend to forget about them...if they come back with a deposit then fairenough....but until they do i,ll sell whatever it is they want to someone else if the opportunity arises

nothing really surprises me about the public anymore

PS paul you are a moaning cnut

I can appreciate where you are coming from but it comes with that line of business unfortunately. People get pissed off at me if I wonder where they are if they are 10 mins late, I dont care as I would rather waste 10 mins than 2 hours if they are not coming.

As annoying as it is, some people are like that and it will happen again.

Paul,

to be perfectly honest, after selling a few cars i the past from the autotrader i would do exactly that now, never tell anyone its sold until they do get there and the money is in your arse pocket - from my experienes, Jo Public is a total time wasting mupet, even if it means more than 1 person turning up at the same time - fook it, have an auction on the spot fook em
