Well after looking at some of the awesome resto's of other S1's, i thought i'd put some update pics up.....but couldnt find the original post so just gonna start again!
This is my S1 when i got her, she's called Kacey from the reg and was bought from ebay in Feb 2006, was taxed and tested but needing tidied up. Always wanted an S1 and she was in my price range! Bog standard except full Magnex, cone filter, strut brace, silicon hoses and a boost gauge:

Ran about in her with a massive smile on my face till tax ran out and planned to give her a tidy for the summer (doors, tailgate, lick of paint) but got a bit more involved when kit came off

she needs a full drivers sill, back arch and back panel. Passenger side is pretty sound and floor is good having been replaced before. Then both doors and tailgate need replaced as well. Suppose its not too bad for a 1985 Escort!
Started on underside of car, stripped it back to nothing then painted it all with black hammerite (lots of fun) then the powder coated back arms, new petrol tank, poly bushes, rear disc conversion and suspension went on slowly:

New wheels being tried for size (7 x 16s)

Car had to be moved from the driveway at this point so got transported to nearby waiting lock-up.
Been on back-burner for a bit while I save for the bodywork but in meantime bought this little delight for Ł100

One owner from new and 38k! Stripped the car bare of anything useful and then scrapped shell. Provided a pristine tailgate and dash (two tone unfortch but better than mine) all spare lights, clocks etc etc so bit of a bargain!
In meantime also bought a mint S1 passenger door complete with stripe from a mate who had it stored for a rainy day! Bargain at Ł40 and he aslo chucked in a mint S1 spoiler to replace my cracked one - cheers Scotty!
How she's looking the now

Got a mate who hopes to do the welding over next few weeks and then its just paint and build her back up, hopefully in time for the nice weather in 2007! Few other jobs to do such as new clutch needed, cossie brakes etc but its progressing slowly!
cheeRS for lookin

So you bought a MK3 Ghia, stripped it of anything usefull, then scaped the shell
Are you aware of how many MK3 Ghias were sold, and how many are now left, probably not; i will give you a hint, there are more XR3i Escorts left, than there are MK3 Ghias,
ford sold more XR3is too.

Best of luck mate
Coming on faster than i thought Ross - the oldskool style comps set it off a real treat!
The bay and engine looks pretty mind - with a few weeks hard graft it'll be looking great! Any plans for the engine or just a freshen up and chip like you mentioned that time you took me out in it for a run
Looking forward to seeing this one!
My dad used to have one of those Ghia's back in the day too

Ghia was rotten mate - wouldnt have stripped it otherwise but couldnt see a demand for a rotten 5dr, especially when the RS needed parts!
It'll be staying fairly standard Agar mate - its gettin built for looks rather than speed, maybe a wee chip though...and a -31....
Davey you can have the bumpers if you want em, only reason I took them off was for the over-riders

Update time
Well after sitting for a while wating on the rot gettin cut out and the new panels put on, I got her back yesterday. She's had a new back valence, drivers back arch and a full drivers sill - dropped the car off with my mate last Sunday, had the car less than a week and it was done! Would have been quicker but the panel shop was closed on Mon & Tues:

Still got the nasty wee hole at filler cap to sort. Painter was round today having a look and its going in after he finishes the Nova he's got at the moment

Cheers for the comments - also swapped the tailgate with a mate for a genuine RST one in mint condition - saves me drilling the silver one for the rear wiper and spoiler and its better for his RS1700T rep
Keep it up mate. Old style compos are really nice! This is gonna be an absolute beauty!
PS, where do you and your mates keep finding all those old stlye compos......
Find 4 more, for me
