Default My S1 RS Turbo - update 11/04/07

Well after looking at some of the awesome resto's of other S1's, i thought i'd put some update pics up.....but couldnt find the original post so just gonna start again!

This is my S1 when i got her, she's called Kacey from the reg and was bought from ebay in Feb 2006, was taxed and tested but needing tidied up. Always wanted an S1 and she was in my price range! Bog standard except full Magnex, cone filter, strut brace, silicon hoses and a boost gauge:

Ran about in her with a massive smile on my face till tax ran out and planned to give her a tidy for the summer (doors, tailgate, lick of paint) but got a bit more involved when kit came off

she needs a full drivers sill, back arch and back panel. Passenger side is pretty sound and floor is good having been replaced before. Then both doors and tailgate need replaced as well. Suppose its not too bad for a 1985 Escort!

Started on underside of car, stripped it back to nothing then painted it all with black hammerite (lots of fun) then the powder coated back arms, new petrol tank, poly bushes, rear disc conversion and suspension went on slowly:

New wheels being tried for size (7 x 16s)

Car had to be moved from the driveway at this point so got transported to nearby waiting lock-up.

Been on back-burner for a bit while I save for the bodywork but in meantime bought this little delight for £100

One owner from new and 38k! Stripped the car bare of anything useful and then scrapped shell. Provided a pristine tailgate and dash (two tone unfortch but better than mine) all spare lights, clocks etc etc so bit of a bargain!

In meantime also bought a mint S1 passenger door complete with stripe from a mate who had it stored for a rainy day! Bargain at £40 and he aslo chucked in a mint S1 spoiler to replace my cracked one - cheers Scotty!

How she's looking the now

Got a mate who hopes to do the welding over next few weeks and then its just paint and build her back up, hopefully in time for the nice weather in 2007! Few other jobs to do such as new clutch needed, cossie brakes etc but its progressing slowly!
