Im looking into buying a set of track day tyres and seen the 888's.
Have any of you used them on your cosworths? What are your views?
The car will be used for summer driving and track days. Konis, polybuses, Adjust TCA's and uprated brakes.
Will this be a good set up on the track??
thanks Bruce

Sounds alright mate but depends on how you have had it set up. The other thing i would do is the rear beam for a ZOO grp A copy. thats whats next for mine.
As for R888'2 on a Saph i am not sure but alot of other people are using them with good results, if only using the car for summer and track days them your not to worried about the wet.
Alot of people are using the Dunlop trackday/fast road tyre thats supposed to be very good aswell, comes down to personal choice and what your budget is.

Cheers for the information Nash. Thats pretty much the same as i was thinkging. I cant realy afford the Grp A beam yet.
Yeh the car will never be driven in the wet unless i get caught in rain over in germany.
What do they wear like in general? What level of grip do they give on saph cossies??
Bruce

PM SiB i went out in his 4x4 Saph cossie in the WET and it was very slippery
And they were getting nr there limit tread wise
And we were flying around he told me to get aset for track and road use

888`s
I got some in september to go to the "ring" ,as i couldnt take my slicks.
I drove 900miles and did 8 good laps of the 14 mile ring.
Tyres where fooking amazing for grip
thought i was on a slick,as for wear and tear
i could do the same trip another twice i recon ,best 350 quid i spent

Looks like they last pretty good from what righthooker says so look a bloody good buy.
I will use my normal road tyres[toyo T1-R's] when on track as i cant afford another set of 17's at the min and my 15's wont go over brakes.
If not got enough cash for rear beam[like me at the min] then the shims are supposed to be better than nothing. Thats what i will be putting on min for donno on 29th.

But i have heard that the shims are a good idea if the car is low and has camber/toe issues.
