Default Service Time

Well, I just got my first S2 and I love it! To make sure she stays in tip top condition I plan to gice her a service.

As I'm new to all this turbo stuff, I just want to ask a few questions before I rush out and buy the wrong stuff. Also as I cant get the forum search option to work???

1) It currently has 5w50 Motorsport oil in it (Halfords Branded) is this correct? One of the followers is a tiny bit tappy and it was supposed to have been rebuilt 1000 miles ago, so would it benefit from a different grade oil?

2) Is it best to fit Motorcraft parts (Oil filter, plugs, fuel filter)?

Cheers in advance, any help appreciated!

Lee

I would say the oil you are using is a little thin for the CVH engine. What is the spec of the engine and how do you use it?

I currently use Silkolene 10W 50 in mine

Agreed. I use this oil and this grade. 5w is a bit thin in my opinion.

I also use standard Ford RST plugs and might aswell get the oil filter from there too while you are at it. Which is exactly what I going to buy today.

OK kool, I thought 5w50 was a bit thin . I shall get some 10w50 today along with motorcraft plugs and oil filter!! It's a standard engine apart from a kent cam, stg1 hybrid turbo, -31 actuator and DV

Cheers Guy's

Just dropped him a PM, I'm sure he'll be able to help! I ordered up the plugs oil filter and a few other parts at my local fords tonight so I can hopefully service it at the weekend!

Cheers for your help lads!
