are they forged or cast ? what bhp can they take ?

they are cast, im now running t34 044 fuel pump and injectors and runnin 255 bhp with some head work and it handles it fine all day long

so what about aftermarket mahle pistons are they pressure cast aswell ? what are the cheapest forged pistons i can buy ?

Is it safe to skim of 1 mm of the standard pistons?

I have around 1mm shaved off the top of my pistons and have been running around 16-18psi on MFI for the last couple of years with no problems until an exhaust valve head fell off.............

But I suppose the skimming wasn't the problem there

Yeh, nothing to do with the skim.

Dont think that extra 1mm of piston would have prevented the valve head going through.
