hello ford owners

would you guys and girls be interested in a rs turbo vs gt turbo thrash day at a drag strip early next year???

currently there hasnt been a date that has been decided as this isnt an official event as yet but i think some time before june/july would be good so it enables plenty of time to get the cars ready for everyone

if there is enough interest then i will select a date at one of drag strips and let battle commence

The 5's are quite rapid over the 1/4 mile as they weigh the same as a baked bean can

 

built the same aswell !

 

Reference to the two vids:

1: Keith Taylor's original ZVH S2 chasing down & beating an Evo off a slipway onto a motorway. (John Lavericks "It's Evo Time" is a reference to what the passenger said on the video )

2: Tony Turbo (or was it Christian?) chasing down APT's Evo.

both of these started off as rolling runs, not static chases as the Evo would have a big advantage with the 4wd.

Whenever I was on track in my old RST with mates in the passenger seat I always shouted "Its EVO time" as the EVO comes sailing past

 

and the fact that Christian cant launch for shit
when you get a rst to about 300 bhp the gears last as long as moto-x bike

 

Don't think we'd stand a chance over the 1/4. I've beaten many a R5 GTT on the move but they are simply superb at the 1/4 mile stuff.

I once saw a 5 do 1 11.5 1/4 mile, admittidly, he wound the bleed vale up more time's then Bosch Man as people on earth, and it went bang and made a horrible mess about 2 seconds before crossing the line

I just saw it as a fun day out with some other petrol heads and could have been a bit of a giggle

I didn't think you were actually going to win anything....

People have too much pride these days and seem to have lost the sense to have a little fun in life

If I only entered rallys I could win it would VERY SOON get boring

 

Im game for anything like this especially if its at the pod (cause thats the nearest place to me).

And I def aint scared of getting beat, high powered 5's can be fast at quarter mile stuff, but so can decent rst's

But as already said, its just a laugh and would be a good day out.

I'd be up for having a go at this never done this before but should be a good laugh. Plus I should have my group A works alloys, toyo R888 tyres and MEF TCA's and front tie bars fitted by then too still probably get my ass whooped though

 

could be a good day. most people dont seem to have much faith here in their cars. i bet the renault 5 owners are crying with laughter. theres alot of big power rs turbos out there, just that most are stil bein built lol ie bassboys, stevenb etc
