Default Info about group A Fuel pumps - PIXTURE ADDED

Hi guys

So I have now bought a group A fuel pump from TF, and now I need to get a fitting kit. One small question.

I notice on the ads for the compelte pumps and fitting kits that in the photo there is a long bit that screws into the pump between the two terminals. Mine has not got this bit on it. Is this part of the fitting kit, or the old pump, or is this a different bit again

Thanks guys

JJ

I think the bit you mean is the non return valve, which will be attatched to the old pump, I don't think they're supplied with a new pump or with a fitting kit.

This stops fuel returning into the fuel tank via the pump when it isn't running, so there is instant fuel in the system (lines, rail) when you start the engine.

the bit you need is for the inlet end of the pump.... a sierra cosworth pump has a push on hose fitting but the gpa pump has a threaded end so you will need an adaptor fitting.

Hmm this was the route I was considering, but have no idea where to source the parts! I was looking at the technical essay archive, and at least one of the installs have gone this route, and looked very very comprehensive!

So is this a bit I need for the cossie, or no? The photos I have seen of installs dont seem to show this non-return valve.

Cheers mate, I will make do with the old one, unless I see any fatigue that causes concern.

I guess this is the price of buying nearly new, rather than totally new!
