I saw that Valentino Rossi was running just out of the points in Rally NewZealand in his black Subaru WRC, was in the top 12 for some of it, good to see he is quickly upto pace on 4wheels, there is something about racers like him, making it look quite easy
How long before he gets a point or even nears a podium Hmmmm

so is he doing it full time?

 

think he will be good, wish he would get into tin tops or something, see some of that flair overtaking and clawing thru the field would be nice......


but if he is happy gettin muddy

 

he has the balls, no-one can doubt that.

think he just needs a bit more practice and will get quicker. probably never a world champ but 4/5/6 isnt unrealistic.

sounded passionate in the interview when speaking of his dad doing night rallying.

 

The Guy who runs prodrive? Alan Richards is it? was quoted on cefax today saying that they had been in talks, and he thought that he would be a top edition to the WRC.

 

He`s gone the same route as Travis Pastrana.....

Bikes to cars,But im sure Rossi has signed another 2 yr deal for GP???

I've read his autobiography and i think his dad was a champ on 2 and 4 wheels.
Valentino competed in Karts and bikes when younger and had the chance to race on 2 or 4 wheels and chose 2. He was just as competent with 4 though

 

He finished 11th but he was way off the pace tho

If 11th in the world is off the pace then I want some of that , seriously though I can see him doing well whatever he does.

This was not his debut in WRC, he stuffed a Seat into a tree a few years back and has 'dabbled' a few times

Never hurts to have top tier equipment or service help either

 

Yes I remember he binned it on the same corner the 3x team peugeots did rally stage was stopped just after that. I did notice his car carried NO sponsors, hows he fund that then, personally sponsored his drive or Subaru gift him this one you think?

lets face it, he's not short of a few quid, he's probably more than able to finance his own team, so I doubt a one off would even dent his wallet!!

 

yes he did do very well but, he was nearly 20 mins off the top 5 which in rallying terms is a lifetime
