Default Comfy cruiser for £1k ?

Want something comfy for the winter and was thinking of either a Mondeo or Omega, but never had a Vauxhall, seem to get more car for the money with the Omega.

Anyone had one or have any other choices ?

and no BMW's as there too old for the money.

cheers
Mark

lovely motor

ive had loads and fords and vauxs but ive found the vauxs usually cost more to fix and most mechanics prefer woking on fords !!

Just bought myself a 98 Vectra Sri Vectra 2.0, just for the same reason. Easily handles her in doors horsey stuff in the estate boot, and doesnt matter too much if it gets dirty etc. Done over 4k in 6weeks and the only thing i have done is put a new thermostat in.

My old Omega 3.0 Elite was a good car.

reliable, quickish. very comfy, and i could get 36mpg on a run from it.

boot was huge, leather, electric everything.

Cant really say the same for my old Granada Cossie.

as nice as it was, it was dated.

mk2 mondy turbo diesel and run it on veg oil

done over 30k in one year and all i have had to replace was a power steering pump the other week.

There is one near me in slough for 595 - its a white saloon but looks quite clean when i drove past it yesterday.

Pm me if you want me to get the number for you.

Nissan Primera. You'll be able to get 2 for a grand. If you go for the GT it'll still come in under a grand, and you get leccy everything, air con, half leather seats, indestructible engine, great handling.

I've just had to replace the brake pads on mine. *0k from the original pads isn't too bad though

The Carlton gsi is a great car. I've had a manual 12 valve, a manual 24 valve and an auto 24 like the one on ebay The manual ones were the most fun but they are becoming rare now. Primera eGT's or GT's are good cars for the money and they handle very well for what they are
