Cleaning under Escos boot rubbers and trim etc
I am doing the Escos boot today and wondered if you have to take off the boot rubber seal and clean under it, I am reluctant to do this as it has obviously never been off and is stuck down very well, I have cleaned round it but not under it-do the judges pull up trim even if it is very well stuck down?
Also should you strip waxoyl from inside any cavities they might be able to reach inside -eg inside bottom boot latch hole -again would prefer to leave it in there as it's there for a reason

Hi mate,
I judge at quite a few RSOC concours events and I have shown my car in modified cosworth also. My advice for what its worth..........
Judges will not/ SHOULD not peel back any fixed rubber seals around the boot. Clean it to within an inch of its life in every nook and cranny than can be seen. Once its properly clean and dry, go over it with a dry white cloth and if any dirt comes off onto the cloth, keep cleaning.
Waxoyl inside the lock area, REMOVE IT. Get as far inside as you can with your fingers as judges will judge areas like this with their fingers. This is applicable to the holes on the underside of the bonnet also.
No matter how clean you think your getting the car it can always be cleaner. Get the interior proffesionally valeted, remove the seats before they come so they can get the carpets mint.
Take out you tool kit, re plate or repaint the towing eye gold if it has been used and is scratched and clean up the jack and give it a quick overspray of satin black paint, it'll look good as new
Any more questions, just ask mate
