what product would you guys recommend for polishing the exhaust?

iv heard of people using very very fine wire wool with autosol for best results

Yup - the very fine WW with Autosol works well on the inside of the exhaust

when its really dirty, nitro morse, then polish, watch your fingers though, it burns like hell lol.

take it off take it to a welding and fabrication palce and go bonkers of the buffer.....made mine shyner that when it was new.....short lived tho not a bufty and its on a daily driver
