Default R.I.P old faithful Taxi 2.0Ltr sapphire... Cam chain failure

My old faithful daily run about finally gave up the ghost Saturday afternoon on the way back from Coventry on the M69, I never race or rev it and have treated it well, it sailed through its last MOT last month needing no work what so ever, my first ever car to do so. On the M69 on Saturday PM i was driving at about 65-70MPH when a bang from the engine bay and red lights on the dash board signalled the end bless it. It turns over the crank but not the cams so the timing chain has snapped or come off.

RIP

137,000+ ran sweet too no smoke, never been opened up, std head etc standard all round sooooooooo reliable, sob sob. Should have paid the money for the chain to be changed but trusted the advice of the poxy garage Not decided yet Project sapphire turbo so wait on my decision.

I use my mums K plated 2 litre DOHC Sierra when ever mines off the road (quite alot).
The big white fun bus its known to many, its on its third engine and has just passed 400,000 miles, it takes abuse every time its driven and never misses a beat.
Even had 132mph (speedo) with 5 people in it going to a Norfolk meet getting it sideways down the A14
