Wont start when hot?
Jus brought a mint s2 had it jus over a week love it but when it gets hot it wont start,it had a new diesel starter motor a month ago and heatshield says the previous owner, got to b starter tho as it bump starts v easy! Aint sure jus to try a genuine ford starter motor as the one on it now was a halfords 1! Any one else had same probs?
Sounds like the starter then. Check the connections are all tight on the motor itself etc.
If your guna get one just get one off a smaller engined car, mine is off a 1.4CVH. Works fine, and they are smaller so there will be more clearance between the downpipe and starter itself, so in theory should last longer!

I made a heat shield up to protect the starter from the heat from the turbo out of alloy. I mounted it to the 2 bolts that oil return pipe needs and bent it to shape.
