Default Wont start when hot?

Jus brought a mint s2 had it jus over a week love it but when it gets hot it wont start,it had a new diesel starter motor a month ago and heatshield says the previous owner,got to b starter tho as it bump starts v easy! Aint sure jus to try a genuine ford starter motor as the one on it now was a halfords 1! Any one else had same probs?

Depends on the symptoms/what its actually doing.

Is it stalling the starter?

When u turn key nowt happens but ingnition lights dim a little,no clicking noises at all! jus let it cooled down and it started fine!

Sounds like the starter then. Check the connections are all tight on the motor itself etc.

If your guna get one just get one off a smaller engined car, mine is off a 1.4CVH. Works fine, and they are smaller so there will be more clearance between the downpipe and starter itself, so in theory should last longer!

I went through 3 re-conned starters until I decided to get a genuine Turbo starter motor second hand and its still going strong.

Thanks peeps gd theory bout smaller 1,all connections or tight,will go and order 1 from fords and c how it goes? cheers!

I made a heat shield up to protect the starter from the heat from the turbo out of alloy. I mounted it to the 2 bolts that oil return pipe needs and bent it to shape.

Thanx mate will get a brand new 1 as get ford employee discount,has got a heatshield but cant b 2 good as only a month old! will b doing track days so got 2 sort it!

Normally 30% off! jus spoke 2 me mate at me local ford parts dealer,said aint had them a a while!
