I fancy get some good quality head phones. I could do with them in the house for when everyone goes to bed, and also when i travel.

Anyone had any experiance with the Bose noise cancelling headphones?

Bought myself a set of these recently. Serious headphones mate, sound incredible.

 

Sennhisser.... I bought some about 5yrs ago at about £200 and the sound quality is Very very Impressive and you can have them really loud without distortion

 

I have the bose and recomend them.

Hmmm migh be on my shopping list then. I know they are expensive but still they seem very good! I just wasnt sure if the noise cancelling was a gimmick.

Stu they look good and half the price of the Bose it might be tempting as the Bose are very fookin expensive. but i do love my music and fancy up grading my pikey ones.

 

I got some of those ex-concorde Sennheisers for about £30!! awesome value for money!!

For several years my husband and I have been bothered by excessive road and airplane noise while traveling, and we finally decided to bite the bullet and try the new Bose Quiet Comfort 3 noise cancelling headphones with their 30 day moneyback guarantee.
I don't think that we'll be returning these headphones before we die! We just drove 14 hours down the East Coast on I-95 in a new rental Chrysler van, and the road noise was overwhelming. To hear the car radio or iPod, we had to crank the music so loud it hurt our ears. So we took turns listening to the iPod using the QC3's, and it was wonderful being able to hear the low volume parts of the many instrumental songs we enjoy.
The QC 3's are quite similar to the QC 2's, so the reviews of the 2's apply to the 3's as well. The major change is that the 3's have a smaller cup that rests on the ear rather than fitting over it like the 2's, and the 3's cost around $350.00 ...about 50.00 more than the 2's.
Bose just began offering a free Lexar MP-3 player with both sets of headphones last weekend after buyers told them that last year's promotional CD player was out of date. The Lexar will hold a 1 Gig SD card in addition to the 256K and about 30 songs built in.
I am not an engineer, but do know that it is wonderful being able to hear my instrumental soundtrack collection while traveling. We have several long trips planned on the ground and by air this year and will be picking up another pair of these headphones before we take off next week. When one wants peace and quiet, just turning on the noise cancelling switch (with no music input) greatly lowers the noise of the road or jet engines.
I could not understand how Bose could charge so much for a pair of headphones until we used them and realized that we are saving our hearing (at least what is left of it at this point) and arriving less fatigued than we did without the QC3's. That is worth a fortune in our opinion.

I use Sennheiser HD25 £180 , I found these to be idle when dj - ing on the 1's 2's

im looking in the shure e4c`s about 300 quid, but noise cancelling

 

I used a set of the Sennheisers for 10 years. excellent sound quality and go very loud for club use, without distorting.

I now use a set of Technics, which are very compact and sound quality is second to none.

 

I tried the Bose noise cancelling headphones in the states a while back, they were awesome!

 

sennheiserss are the dogs.. can not fault em at all .. got a pair of hd 25's and a pair of old 570's .. and can honestly say they are really good ...

They do different models at different prices to suit budget

sennheiser hd650 if you prefer conventional over the ear phones. I use my e5c when out cycling etc, and 650s at home in the evening for relaxation.
Both got equally good sound and benefit from an outboard dedicated amp.

I've got a pair of Seinheiser HD25SPs from when I was DJing (9 bloody years ago!).

Those Bose noise cancellers look awesome!

as you know i've been dj'ing for over 12 years now and have been playing at clubs and events all over the uk every weekend for the last 8 years. i use Pioneer SE-DJ5000 cans and i have to say that they have been faultless in the 6 years that i've had them,excellent sound quality with no distortion and virtually unbreakable. i have used other headphones and the only ones that i would replace them with(if they ever break!!) is the Sennheiser HD595's.

Hmm those Sennheiser deffo look tempting. And tbh i dont think i can justtify the extra wedge on the bose, well not atm anyway

I can one thing I like about the Bose 2 is the headphones cup my ears and not press on them,
I tried the Sony ones$50 first but these pressed my ears did not like this after 1 hour so I gave to the wife she's happy and I got what I wanted for it .

PMSL Mark, you have the 2 and more than happy with them then was looking at the new Bose 3 but they are over double what people are saying above. Hmmmm might go on my xmas list and wait a month for them then

 

All I can say is I am happy with mine and it will be the same with the others and it could be more of a badge name that made me want mine .

just saw it now pal i cant use no other hp's no more sound just aint the same quality always take my sennheisers over my sony v700s to dj with

 

Trouble thos headphones dont look very erm user freindly. I would be using them on plane aswell as at home So honestly you think they are to big? And i like that fact that are more than half price of Bose, but no noise cancelling feature

Also they are like ear defenders without sound.

never thought I would pay a huge ammount for headphones but these are like having a hifi strapped to ur head, they almoust bounce of ur head with bass every tune is like you have never heard it before.

 

No no thats only half of it chaps! It has to do that and also be played on system in the house!! So i dont want anything to bulky as it has to be carried around aswell.
