i bought my first s2 in may and paid £4500 for a 240bhp 1.6 cvh as i wanted a fast one without having to spend money on it.

given the chance i would swap it for a mint standard one.

sounds like we've all got different ideas.

i really enjoyed building my car, i think thats been the biggest buzz really.

don't get me wrong, i love givin it some beans at every chance but i'll be honist, my car scares the shit out of me!!!!

i'd do it all again tomorrow though.

i think buying something that doesn't look or go how you want then watching it grow it the ultimate.

i was just gunna build mine as a standard minter but once started it just spiralled out of control.

i must have spent 10k easy, but what else can you buy for that money that will tuch it?

Alot of that was similar to mine!!

I wouldn't build another one! I'd buy one which is already top spec such as Tim Butchers, Ollies, Tony Turbo, Stephen C, C&B etc... the only way to get your hands on a modified car imo!! Far to expensive to build from scratch!!

either buy a minter, well cared for example and get cracking, or get a properly specced up one, none of this 180 bhp or 200 bhp advertised nonsense, blatantly the problematic ones

i think you get more out of building your own.

i wouldn't have been able to shell out the 10 grand plus its cost me to build mine all in one go thats for sure.

and some lucky git is gunna be able to buy it for around 6 if they want.

makes sense to buy a ready built if your not in the possition to build your own but still have the burn for worp speed on a buget.

Point is Don't even think about any of it if getting ANY kind of return is an
issue. There aren't very people out there willing/able to shell out 6 k on a 20 year old Escort no matter how many bells and whistles it's got cos for that money you're getting very close to RS Owners club Registra's car money.
As for Cossie ownership don't even think about it unless you have a garage
that you are able to bolt it to the ground inside, otherwise some Cee yoU Next Tuesday will nick it.

its RS ownership tho mate, all part of the fun,

if i wanted to see a return on the work i was doin id buy a house

actual point is its personalising your car, that costs money....

dont think anoy ones dose up there cars with the intentionon making them worth more money

its cos is personal choice

seems to be alot of people bitching about the RS's of late

(if i bought phils id just stick my wheels on and it'd be like looking in a mirror)

to true, but if someone is planning to do what you have already done, but haven't got say the skill, time or facilaties to do it then it makes sence to buy one that has been built by a fully skilled panel beater/machanic that has built the car at no expence spared.

do you not think?

it saves all the head aches that building the car comes with in the first place (as you will all know) the many 1000's of man hours, and ringing around clutching at straws trying to solve problems that are right at the end of your nose but you can't see because the solution is to simple.

as maybe, but that is a true one off motor.

your always gunna have that sort of problem, most ford gearboxs are shit!!! its the week point of all rst's, even cossie boxes don't last for ever.
