Default cam problem

Hi all weve recently fitted a cam to our xr2i rally car cvh efi the cam is a cvhbp285 fast road cam
(piper)

since fitting it though the car doesnt run right it revs t 4.5 k then shoots upt to 5 where it starts spluttering/missing like its hitting a rev limiter then it dies down and trys to idle but if you dont keep the revs on a little it cuts it out but yet on start up it will idle ok. does anyone know what it could be?

as for timing we set the bottom crank pulley to 108 deg as piper stated set to BDC first then rotated clockwise as you are looking at the pulley to 108 deg then rotated the cam so that the first lifter on inlet valve was at its maximum then put the belt back on.

anyone help??

Thanks

Stick the standard cam back in, if it stops then phone piper and get Gary to sort it!
