what causes a car to lose oil without a oil leak??

engine is burning it. 2 most likely causes are valve stem oil seals, and worn rings/bores.

 

can these be repaired?

 

valve stem oil seals are easy enough yes. Bores/rings is engine rebuild. Does it smoke at all? How much oil is it using?

 

funny thing is the car doesnt smoke, there's no oil leak.

just thought id check the oil and it seems bone dry!!

just put mobile 1 in and its registering on the dip stick, car usually runs fine and quiet.

think i checked the oil 2 months back was just under the max.

 

could it be a breahter issue and oil is being sucked thru the i/c
had issues with my cars breathers and emptied 2litres of oil out the i/c(which is a grs),worth checkin anyway

how much is a rebuild by the way?
