Default Thought on Alfa 156 V6?

OK, not a Ford but there's plenty of knowledable people on here. Anyone had an Alfa 156?

I want something cheap and comfortable to smoke to and from work in that's kinda stylish and thanks to Alfa infamous depreciation these seem like a bit of a bargain.

1999ish car with a 190bhp 2.5 V6, 6 speed gearbox, full leather and sensible miles for less than 2k

I know the main horror stories on alfa used to be rust due to cheap Russian metal on pre 83 cars and the infamous Italian electronics.

Are either of these an issue anymore? Anything else to look out for?

Thanks in advance

My mate has one with the turismo kit on it. Really nice car but worth nothing.

He has had no problems with his at all but everyone else i know with alfas has had electrical problems. The engines is smooth and sounds good it just isnt that quick.

Cheers guys

Those crazy Italians haven't sorted out their wiring yet then. Thankfully I'm not too bad with a multimeter

Sounds like a long test drive is important then.

Exactly why I want to buy a cheap one

If anyone else can suggest a stylish looking car with a >2000cc engine, full leather and <80k for about Ł1500 I'm listening

The Celica and Volvo are both a bit lacking in Style though

What about Fiat Coupe's? the N/A 16v one? I know the cambelts on the turbo's are a bitch but are the N/As the same? anything else go wrong?
