sorry its not a ford but havnt had much to do with these like ever, just wondered as it hasnt a test after end of this month are they prone for rust/rot anywhere, they said it needs handbrake cable for test(you would have done this i thought)no failure sheet??any specific areas to look for?? would appreciate sum help guys please as going to look tomorrow thankyou in advance for any pointers
Me and my pal had one to smoke about in/work on for a week, it needed 2 bottom arms, 2 strut tops and front shockies. . . also check drop links if you hear any knocking.
Engine - their was a hissing noise which turned out to be a split actuator pipe, and before that it had a hole in one boost pipe
This one had done 156K and apart from all that it was a nice car, wasnt sure on the blue leather but it went like a train for such a large heavy car!
Also if it uses any oil, it's usually a blocked breather canaster, hard to get too tho as it's under the inlet manifold at the front, but this will probably be the reason for it. either clean, replace or uprate.
I think the auto's can suffer from dodgy sensors in the shift stick thingy. .and from cold they can stick in 2nd/3rd gear. . so im told
sorry dont know very much about these cars, just know what was wrong with the car we had so might give you an idea of what to look for.

Mate if they say they have taken it for a test and it failed, then they have a failure sheet. Anything else is just bollocks and I wouldn't believe a word that person told me after that!
rust??? volvo's dont rust

ok they do, but 850's dont seem too bad for rust.
infact i know a 340 on an F Reg with not one piece of rust on it, and that rarely gets a wash lol
its only just had the ORIGINAL exhaust replaced too!!! the car does over 300 miles a week so its not moth balled!!!
