Anyone found a substance that will clean out the crud from the inside of header tanks?

ie, acid or something equally lethal?

Cheers,

Si

Try a vindaloo, aways cleans my insides out .

What about wheel cleaning acid stuff, though if its a plastic one it may melt it.

I have just cleaned mine out. Was hardly dirty to start with but im a bufty lol.

I used a bottle brush and very hot water and some cleaning products all mixed up. Then to get rid of the hard to reach bits in the tank i used bleach and boiling water and sploshed it about lol!!

Worked great.

Nice hot Caustic soda - gets rid of calcium deposits, rust staining and any oil in there!
