Well it’s that time of year again isn’t it, cars off the road so decided to get dirty!!
The bays never been that clean, wrong colour rocker cover and dirty inlet have always let it down. The plan is to get all the tanks professionally polished and proper Aeroquip fittings added to them all. Get the rocker powder coated along with the inlet and all the little engine brackets etc.
This is the bay before I started, better than some but not ultra buffty
:

Here’s how she was a couple of days ago, the turbo is now also off and stripped ready for painting, I have removed the inlet housing and will also get that professionally polished

I will keep the updates coming

Thanks chaps
Does anyone know what size thread the water outlet thread is on the turbo? I want to run a braided hose from the header tank all the way to the turbo and quip it on the turbo itself. I guess I could just use the banjo fitting.. Any ideas im a quip novice

Oh as well as the engine bay tart up my spiltrims are off and im going to get the centres done black. Not sure if it should be gloss or matt though.
Looking good mate, don't you go too mad though I wanna see this done by next year ready for the shows!
I'll have to shoot up one day mate and take a look about, love your 3dr, i'll have something abit more suitable to drive up by next weekend hopefully
I reckon you should use Glass paint on the centre's of the split rims too mate and get some new door mouldings back on whilst your working on it

Photo shoot went really well, we found a great spot by Fratton Park that had loads of Graffiti-so should look really good, not sure when it will be in as Dan has to interview me yet.
Do you do the Hants sigs then? - if you want to do one for me I will send some piccies over

Black looks v cool
I found the place for the shoot by accident-I found some derelict buildings by Fratton Park and got bored whilst the photographer was snapping away so took his dog for a walk
, walked a few hundred yards and Bingo
, he was chuffed as it was such a cool place, tucked away with awesome graffiti

Think.. Engine will be staying in the car Andy. If I had the room I think it would be out by now
Thanks for the other kind words chaps, should have been out there today working on it but the weather was so shite I couldn’t face it.
I will have a word with my alloy man and see if he’s interested in making some of these filter shields. My current one is in stainless but the new ones will be more bling & anodised if required

hehe i wont Dan, Just spent two hours out in the cold removing the manifold, what a bitch of a job that is!
think this is about as far as the strip downs going.. should be able to clean the other parts on the car. the rocker covers and pullys will come off but will leave that there for now while i clean the bay.

Turbo with the housing removed for polishing
bling bling or it will be soon.

All tucked up for the night, room? Wish I had more of it, time to step away from the pies and try to squeeze past the mirrors!! Wish I had taken them off now

Thanks Puss,
I think she needs the side mouldings even more with the black centres as the wheels then match all the black detailing.
Still have another 60 bolts to remove from them dam wheels

Thanks guys, Ok then Franco whats left for me to do if i want to get the engine out? Undo the clutch cable, unbolt from the engine mounts and disconnect from the gearbox?
Dan the bumper is genuine mate, it was on the car when i bought it. They were availble new up until about a year ago from Pj's and other places, think they were about £500 then new but since then i have seen them shoot up to 1k for a secondhand one
