Default AP DISKS - A PROBLEM ?

I recently fitted a brand new set of AP disks and 4 pots with DS2500 pads to my cossie.
The problem is, they squeal like a bee-ach when light breaking at low speeds.
The car has done over 1000 miles with them now and I bedded the pads in over about 200 miles.
The disks are in perfect alignment and fitted correctly including the retaining clips for the pads.

Does anyone know if this is normal or are my new bling brakes knackered ?

Have you lightly greased (with copper slip) the parts of the pad that are in contact with the calipers?

Also you can buy anti squeal pads to help stop it.

you have got to bed them in quite hard, i.e 4 or 5 heavy stops from 80-90 MPH then let them cool right down, then off you go also as said before copperslip on the BACK of the pad should quieten them down

If you are bedding them in as Wil says, don't let the car come to a complete stop!!! Only come down to about 5mph then go again

Neil.

Yeah copped slip is usually a good one. Check that you aint got a glaze on the pad also. If ya have get some real fine wet n dry and lay on a flat surface then rub the pad on it up and down still the glaze has gone.

Check that the pads have not been glazed............best to remove the pads (one at a time so as not to mix them up) then check the surface.......if they are shiney, it's best to rough them with sandpaper/emery cloth untill you get a matt finnish. At the same time clean the discs with brake cleaner.
