Get a computer simulator that allows you to connect your transmitter via a com port. You should be able to fly on the simulator competently before you attempt to fly for real otherwise not only will you trash the copter, you could end up seriously hurting someone.

 

beginner ones for Ł60-70
very good beginner tool and take medium crashes well, just replace rotor blades, very flexible

 

i have a copy of aerofly but for some unknown reason it has a big delay on my transmitter when i apply the throttle

had it checked over and set up correctly by a guy who has been flying for 16yrs

cant wait to get the sim sorted out and see how many times i crash it
lol

Highest I’ve had it I guess is maybe 30/40 ft
But I crashed it soon after lol

Chap in the shop said 150 ft ish range? Tho I never seem to make it lol
Besides only any good indoors really
Slightest breeze n the things gone/uncontrollable.

I got a raptor 30 about 6 months ago but not flown it yet.I had it set up by a young lad who is unbelievable at aerobatics and he gave me a go on his flight sim which I kept crashin.He advised me not to fly alone so I havent.I bought a flt sim called Reflex XTR which is one of the best apparently.Only problem is the computer graphics have screwed up and I cant use it. Gotta get my ass in gear soon coz the raptor is sat in the spare room doing nothing but gather dust. Need to find a computer geek to sort the graphics out.I need one I can trust though coz Ive been to "one full movie "a few times.

Noted on this one the radio gear comes with a p/c like mouse socket? in the back.
Does that mean I can use any flight sim n lead with it, or do I need to watch what type I buy?

 

I got a simualtor and i have crashed it many times just getting used to the controls.
Was also advised to get a sim by the guy who set mine up and not to fly untill insuarnce sorted.

Tried to fly in me kitchen n all was well for 15min

Bu after one table leg to many the frigin outer main shaft must be bent, cos the things vibrating more then the wife’s own toy

But ffs don't try flying them in this wind!

 

I used to have a electric one mmm forgot what it was called off ebay, couldnt set it up rightly so got pissed off with it "wouldnt fly" i swopped it for a chuck of smoke

Small one's an ol Carson, but thats now gone ...
So bought me the 1/6 Rambo next to it aswell as a smaller 1/8 terminator 2.
Used those for a bit then bought a 2stk petrol Marder aswell.
Not that I'm greedy.
Fookin things are costing me a packet in spares tho

5ltr petrol can gives a good idea of scale of those marders



Shoulda kept me cossie lol, prob work out cheaper at this rate.
