My car is a Ford Sierra Cosworth 2WD stage 3 (24psi of boost)

For the moment, I use Bosch f3cs spark plugs.

I will want to replace them by denso ik27

Do you think that it is a good idea?

there a few lads on here that use them with good results but personly i use o71c's from ford finis code 1120834 there about a tenner and spot on for your car

 

071's are good plugs.

i run densos on mine, no probs, although they are very cold plugs apparently?

So you seem to want to run Denso's really badly....

Most people on here with modified Cosworths will be running 071s.
There's a tonne of threads in this forum if you do a search on spark plugs.

well actually i am not sure what state of tune you would call it, just looked on the NMS website and its stage 3

 

about 4 if my calculations are correct

 

I run 071c's good plugs but need re gaping every 2-3000mls and only last bout 5-6000mls imo

 

i run ik27s in my car with no probs..just changed them after 7k miles...

nothing wrong with old ones but did it as part of a service...

The IK27’s are the equivalent heat range of a 9 in the NGK range and the IK31 is a heat range of 10 in NGK.

I use the IK27’s on the street and IK31’s on the strip/track.

 

Normally, the other interest of denso iridium is to have a very long life.
The guys who use the IK27 have which level of tuning?

071's are nice and cheap to, only they made my 4x4saff run like shit when I gave it stick.
I like the champion QC59C's, race plug so they make the car hunt a bit on idle when cold though.

 

What gap do people set them at for 071s?

 

For a std car- 0.85-1.0mm
For more boost(depending, less gap if running more boost)- 0.85-0.65mm.

Watch out on the 071's though because they are offset, you have to gap them at about a 45degree angle.

for peoples which have DENSO, how much miles can I hope with ?

which model you have and what boost?

for 071 spark plugs, is it standard plugs or platinum?

and what aboot PP8 for 24psi?

 

I also run 071 plugs...but they seem to misfire now and then when on full boost (I run a stage 3 with 23psi boost and I have gabbed them at 0,65 mm).... so I'm trying to figure out what to do...new gab or new plug ..????
