Default Fuel pressure

Hello:

I have a Shapire Cosworth 4x4 with chip Stage I, air filter, exhaust Mongoose and boost controller, but I not know that fuel pressure need. Anyone can help me?? I need the fuel pressure for 14,5psi (1bar) and 18psi (1,3bar) turbo pressure.

Thanks you.

I am Spanish and I have the same question. In order to raise the pressure of I disturb to 1.3bar is not necessary to increase the pressure of the injection incline? sorry by my English that is very bad

the fuel pressure in the injector rail should be set with the engine running at idle speed with the pressure connection to the fuel pressure regulator disconnected and blocked (the pipe).

the pressure should be set to 3.5 bar as standard.

the fuel pressure regulator adjust the pressure according to the signal from the pressure pipe. so at idle when you have vacuum there, the pressure will drop to around 3 bar, at 0 bar (open throttle, no boost) it will be 3.5 bar, at 0.5 bar boost it will be 4 bar, 1 bar boost = 4.5 bar fuel pressure etc.

however, some chips are specifically written to use a higher fuel pressure than standard. you should check with the writer of the chip

hope that helps my iberian friends

Sorry, but my english isn't too good and i don't understand some things

If I put a pressure gauge after the pressure controller of gasoline, in the rail of injection, to slow motion that pressure I must fit for 1bar and 1,3bar of boost?

Thanks!

**IF** your chip has been written for standard fuel pressure, then

- Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator
- Block the end of the pipe you have just disconnected
- Measure the fuel pressure at idle speed - this should be 3.5 bar

The vacuum pipe causes the fuel pressure to increase as the boost increases - if the boost is 1 bar, the fuel pressure will be 3.5+1.0=4.5bar, if the boost is 1.3bar, the fuel pressure will be 3.5+1.3=4.8bar (if your chip has been written for standard fuel pressure at idle)

Karl Norris, for one, has the ability to remove these and refit them without you being able to tell that they have been off - so this is not conclusive that the fuel pressure is standard
