rite didnt actually think my car had abs as its a xr3i shell but after looking under it today it has

whats the best way to remove it as i really cant be bothered with the hassle of it being fitted?

take the belts off. my abs is still there but not connected.

BUT

it is worth getting rid of the whole lot...fucking arsehole when ya doing a new g.box

dont think mine is working anyway lol, just wouldnt mind taking it all out. sure its that effecting my brake pedal making it a bit spongey.

bleed the modulators first,then bleed the brakes

will have to give it a try mate. i thought the merc sbc system was awkward but this takes the medal and its a shit system.

what is the best way to remove it though if i was to go down that route?

Hi Mate

Just cutting the belts off is no use at all, the brakes will still be sh*t, you need to bypass the units, i did mine last year all i did was remove the units from the car & make 2 new pipes from the master cylinder to the t's on the inside of the front inner wings.

yeah thats what i was thinking about doing. getting to the time of year where you cant really drive the car too hard anyway cos of road conditions so might sort a few other things first. then just rip the gubbins out and run some new pipes to the lines.
