Default solenoid control valve

Hi guys the control valve which sits on the top of the intercooler on a 4x4 saff, mine is clicking when you touch the plug also sometimes when driving, i have re fitted the plug with no differance so guess must be in the valve itself was wondering if i can use an uprated one or an alternative ?

it will be the SEM valve (often mistakenly reffered to as the amal valve ). they have a habit of coming apart a bit inside and making a dodgy contact.

there are alternatives, but none simple and direct. your best bet is to get a new replacement, otherwise you will need a bleed valve (then the ecu has no control over boost), a boost controller, air to air injectors or whatever.
