I bought a Disgo - a portable USB storage device. Saved from one PC to that, then saved from that to my laptop. 256mb one is £25 and really handy to have anyway - you will use it for other stuff too

Plug the cable, XP will detect the connection. On the machine with the data, share the top level folder out and give everyone full control on it. On the new machine, browse to the old one using its ethernet IP address and you should see the share, double click into it and drag and drop all the data over.

Cheers

Matt

I could be wrong but I think you need a crossover cable to connect 2 PCs not an ethernet cable

If you have an ipod with spare space use that as a memory stick!
