Default Carb on to a 1600 CVH EFI or MFI Cylinder Head?

Hi Chaps

Re: 1600cc CVH cylinder head, can I put a carburettor on to a MFI or EFI cylinder head? Is there a problem with the ports lining up or where the injector cutouts might be on the head? Is there anyway around this? Is either the MFI or the EFI a better or easier option than the other?

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Bob

the injector cutouts will leak on an efi head, you can get an adapter plate but for 30 quid you could get the right head and use the efi cam, which is the biggest difference in the 3 or so bhp you gain over the mfi setup. efi ports are slightly worked, but if you have a dremel just remove the casting marks and your mfi or carb head will be on par with that.

Hi Chaps

So, does that mean I can use an MFI head with my carb and inlet manifold without any adaptor? Does the MFI head have the true round hemisphere combustion chambers instead of the heart shaped later lean burn ones that are more common on later card enginies?

Thanks
Bob

89sm6090 is the one you want, casting number underneath the inlet ports.

hemi head, unleaded seats ,carb fits with no work.
