Default Insurance Claims

Anyone know the point where they will write your car off instead of fix it??

For example... if the car is worth £2,000 how much will they spend to fix it rather than write it off??

I've been told they will only fix up to 1/3 of the value??

Well i've been quoted around £800-£1000 between 3 garages for my door to be fixed... and i'm worried they will write it off!

I dont know what market value is for 1991 Fiesta RS's in good condition tho!

Well its the door thats damaged and the rear quarter.... it needs a new door skin... rear arch repairing.... and the mouldings need replacing.... then spraying door and rear....

APR in Ruislip have quoted £576.00 plus parts (possible moulding, O/S Door Poser Moulding and O/S Door Membrain) plus paint, materials and sundry items..

Then Riverside in Uxbridge have quoted the below....

Now i'm just waiting on Horton Road Body Shop in Yiewsley cause they always do the work on my cars... they're sending me a quote today

My repair costs were £1800 not incuding parts etc....(most quotes are just for labour and materials, so bare that inmind ) so it came out at £3000, my insurnace sent an inspector round, and they said it's a write off even tho i had reciepts for over 8k

In the end we settled by cash in lieu , they gave me £1600 and i had to repair the car myself

and the car was not put on the register.

SassyRS has recommended me to APR so i think they'll be ok!

I dont think insurance will write it off.... hopefully not anyway!

I had to battle it out with insurance when someone hit my Nova... but i got my own way!

Its not like i'm askin for them to spend 2k on it! Only 1k!
