thank you for the replys guys

i think the next thing to do is to get it in a proper garage to do the work
on it im going to look into this tamorow.

i got the car for 450 sould have really beaten him down but was happy with the overall condition of the car it has no rust round the fuel filler cap like most of the mk3's have.

i was looking out for a frst but this came along i thought it would be worth it just for the engine it had just beed rebuilt at the begining of the year as was the gear box. all it really needs a good clean. This looked to be a good base for aconverson to a frst.

it first started of with my intentions of getting it back on the road. But it has turned into a full resto job.

yes old skool is best there is only so much you can do to a new car but there is no fun in that

again thanks for the reply's im liking your escorts twins and gien top work

Nice one mate.I am in a similar boat.Mine failed the mot on welding in similar places to yours.Started to plate the outer cill and found i didnt have anything to weld to! Im ending up replacing the whole outer sill, inner arch and rear quater as the arch and filler surround are rotten through
All good fun. Stick with it

im not sure how much it is going to cost yet as it is still being welded on at the mo it sould be around 300 mark im not sure at mo tho.

i think we are going to replace the rear arces aswell as both sills changing the sills because the jacking point has been bent up so got to take the sill of to get to the main jacking plate to replace.

gary 04 i was just in melksham sunday in the christy miller sport centre racing my rc car in the sports hall. hope you get on well with you project. why dont you post some piccys of you car on this thread?

chears for looking

so here we go

here is the hole under the rear bumper all plated up

some more of the rear valance painted up

here is the rear sus in place

some of the inside painted up

as she stands with bumber back on

right next thing to do is to replace the rear drums/shoes/bearings then get the front done the same.
sorry for the bad pics i need to save up and get a digi cam soon but need the money for this project.

so what do you guys think i know its not the best in the world but its only a temp job at the mo.
